Meet Mrs. Hart

Hello! I am Paige Hart. I am a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Visual Arts teacher at Fegely Middle School in Portage, Indiana.

I am originally from Michigan City, Indiana were I lived until recently. I attended Michigan City area public schools until high school when I graduated from Marquette High School which is a private school.

I began my college experience pursuing a degree in Elem. Education. One day a very wise teacher asked me why I am not in the Art Education area of study. I guess all of my projects were art based so it just made sense to switch. Once I began the art education program, I knew I had found my place. I graduated from Indiana University Northwest in May of 2007. Shortly after graduation I was hired here at Fegely Middle School.

In 2009, I decided to further my education and began a masters program through Olivet Nazarene University. I graduated a year and a half later with a degree in curriculum and instruction.
I love my school! Fegely is my home. I am happy to say that I have only taught here at Fegely. We have an amazing staff, supportive administration and wonderful blend of students from different social economic backgrounds. We strive to obtain the Fegely Family motto and hold the rope for all students and staff!

I have been married to my husband Derek since June of 2010. He is also a teacher here at Fegely, teaching 7th grade English/ Language Arts. On January 16, 2014 we welcomed our first child, Dexter into the world! Between family, church, coaching cross-country, sponsoring Honor Society, and Art club, I stay busy!
